There are several different options and motor home features available to you when you purchase a new RV. There are motor home features that are necessary for survival on the road, while other features may seem frivolous to you. If you are a new RV owner, you should take some important time to become aware of different motor home features that will make your travels easier, along with those that may be more burdensome further on down the road.
1. Storage Areas: One of the important motor home features is the storage space. A motor home storage area can be found inside the RV or outside. Assess the reasons why you will be initially traveling, how long you will be on the road, and what activities you and your fellow RVers will be participating in on the road. When looking at a motor home and motor home features, check these hidden spaces to ensure your RV will comfortably hold all of the extra materials you need and want with you when traveling. Motor home features needed in storage - water hose, grill, shovel, lawn chairs, clothing, toys, and pantry-style food.
2. Holding Tank: Another one of the most crucial motor home features is the holding tank. A holding tank is how your motor home holds water and toilet waste until dumping. It is important for you to look at where these motor home features are located on your RV. The tank motor home features should be easy to access and easy to empty, and there should be a storage area for your motor home hose within range of your holding tank.
3. Dual Tires: If you are looking at a recreational vehicle that has dual tires, make sure you check to see if these tires are accessible both visually and physically. You want to make certain all of your motor home features are easy to access.
4. Visibility: Another important feature you will want to make sure your new or used motor home has is visibility from the driver and passenger seat for backing up, passing, and other on the road maneuvering techniques.
5. Propane: Make sure the propane tanks on your motor home have a regulator, are easy to remove if needed, and accessible for you to check for leakage on a regular basis.
6. Other Options: Will you be staying at campgrounds with full amenities, or will you be off the beaten path more during your travels? Do you need to have a motor home that is capable of carrying water, batteries for appliances, or will you be at camping areas that have full hookups?
7. Budget: What is your spending budget - realistically? Make a list of priorities, what you want in your motor home when you buy it, and what you may invest in down the road. Ask around to other RV owners for their advice and recommendations, or do further research on your own.
Buying an RV is already a large investment, and the numerous extra amenities can be found intimidating. By doing research and investigation on your own, you will be able to make educated choices, which will inevitably help you in your new lifestyle.

Oh the joys of traveling. Most of us have had both good and bad experiences over the years, but what usually kick starts the trip off to either a fine or poor start is the accommodation. It’s so important for the owners of holiday lodgings to create a welcoming feeling on arrival. Whatever the type of business, there’s never a second chance to make a first impression, and the hotels and motels of the world are certainly no exception to that rule.
Obviously, all the glossy brochures and posters promoting the hotels and motels are going to create great visual impact, but just how much of what we see in these illustrated ads actually bear a resemblance to the places in reality?
The search for fine hotels and motels starts by knowing how to locate them. Years ago this was no easy feat as all we had to go on were a few brochures and a bit of a hard sell from the travel agents. Thanks to the internet, those methods are now in the dark ages of travel and tourism.
The best thing about the booming travel industry world wide is the availability of the hotels and motels that have sprung up literally everywhere. An abundance of places to stay has created some healthy competition among hoteliers and that can only be good for customers in terms of both the quality and affordability of available lodgings.
If you already know you destination or general geographical preference, you can simply hop online and log onto Google or one of the other great search engines out there. With Google at your disposal, just type in your destination and within a millisecond you’ll have a whole bunch of hotels and motel to browse through based on your search terms.
On my last trip to Orlando, I made great use of the World Wide Web a few months prior to the trip. It was so easy to find a choice of 4 and 5 star hotels and up-market motels to choose from. Each one of the hotels and motels that I short listed had their won website. It was just fantastic to get recent pictures of the layout, the rooms, the restaurants and the recreational areas, plus of course, the latest prices and promotions. A few of these places actually had online virtual tours which gave panoramic scrolling views of the establishment.
Whether you are someone who travels a lot on business or just a care-free holiday-goer who loves to take trips, I strongly recommend you do all your searching for hotels and motels online. Even if you have some loyalty in places you’ve stayed for years, why not jump online and see what’s available? You’ll be truly amazed at the variety in quality, location, and cost that’s around these days. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention the terrific promotions that get thrown out there from time to time, and yes, many of these special deals are available to internet booker only.

A great way to get rejuvenated and re-energized for the next busy day at the Walt Disney World is to take advantage of one of the luxurious spas that are located at the deluxe resorts from Walt Disney World. Each spa has unique and special features but all of them provide a relaxing environment to unwind and lay back.
Grand Floridian Spa
Walt Disney World’s top spa, the Grand Floridian Spa, is located in the Magic Kingdom. Guests at the Grand Floridian resort have direct access to the spa. If you’re not staying at the Grand Floridian you can get there by monorail, boat and bus. The great thing about the spa is that it encourages parents and children to relax together, side by side. They even have a special program for the children that features a class on skin care and good health and also a mini facial, pedicure and manicure.
The pampering at the Grand Floridian Spa is over the top as you have so many choices that you don’t even know what to start with. However, one of the staff members will help you decide on your treatment program based on your individual needs and prefferences. You can start by enjoying a massage to release the tension and stress in the muscles you have accumulated during a day full of events in the parks. There is a wide range of massage therapies to choose from: swedish, shiatsu, reflexology, a special soothing massage for future mothers and also the Floridian signature citrus zest massage.
After relieving the stress in muscles, the next step is taking care of face and body skin. What woman can say no to a facial that rejuvenates and revitalizes the skin and soothes the senses? Men can also enjoy this part as the spa offers facial treatments for men that provide deep cleaning and conditioning. For the body you can choose body wraps to detoxify and relax, paraffin and OPC body masques and also a sugar scrub.
If you came to spend your honeymoon at the Walt Disney World, you can’t miss the special program for couples at the Grand Floridian Spa - a couples massage in a romantic environment with scented candles and everything. Couples can take home a part of the magic by attending a massage class where they can learn more about different massage techniques they can use after leaving Disney World.
The Grand Floridian Spa has a boutique that allows you to purchase many of the treatments used in the spa to be used at home. They have their own line of bath and body care products that are sold exclusively at the boutique.
Saratoga Springs Spa
The Saratoga Springs Spa is located in the downtown Disney area. It recreates the relaxing atmosphere of the healing spas of Saratoga Springs, New York. Its signature program is the Adirondack Stone therapy that uses heated stones to relax tense muscles and soothe nerves. As you would expect from Saratoga springs, the spa is famous for its hydro massage therapy. You can also get swedish, aromatherapy, motherhood, reflexology and shiatsu massages as at the Grand Foridian Spa but you will certainly be interested in the forest inspired massage that combines reflexology and Swedish massage.
Skin care treatments include facials for ladies, men and also teenagers, body wraps and masks. If you want to feel special you can choose the maple sugar treatment or the seaweed wrap that will certainly give you a glowing look.
Mandara Spa
The Mandara Spa at the Walt Disney World Dolphin brings a more exotic touch as it is modeled after a Balinese style retreat and features the relaxing customs and rituals of the East. The spa focuses on both physical and mental feeling of wellbeing. It features two asian interior gardens that set the mood the moment you enter the spa. You’re welcomed to visit the tea garden, a replica of a traditional Balinese pavilion used for relaxation, and meditate in the Meru temple before you enjoy the treatments that the spa has to offer.
As expected, all the treatments are inspired by Asian traditions. The signature programs include Bali inspired rituals like the traditional cleansing ceremony practiced in the palaces of Java since the 17th century or a Balinese massage, a combination of stretching, elements of shiatsu, accupressure and Swedish massage. Lime and ginger treatments, coconut rubs, milk ritual wraps or seaweed wraps complete the ultimate sensory experience.
Other specials include tooth whitening, hair and nail treatments and a makeup and styling session for the brides who plan to hold their wedding at the Walt Disney World.
You can also find the Zahanati Spa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the BoardWalk Inn, the Contemporary, the Wilderness Lodge and the Yacht Club also offer spa services. Regardless of which spa you decide upon you will leave the Walt Disney World feeling relaxed and refreshed.

For the fortunate few, life isn’t complete without a backpacking trip through Europe. This right of passage is believed to further the maturation process of college students, according to sociologists. Of course, others have opined that copious amounts of alcohol, sun and Amsterdam have something to do with it. Regardless of your purpose, you still have to figure out what to take.
Backpack - Getting In Touch With Your Inner Mule
Obviously, the first critical item is your backpack. While one doesn’t need to buy the $10,000 Himalaya Turbo Pack, you should also avoid the $12 blue light special. So, how do you pick a happy middle ground?
The best method for picking a backpack involves three phone books. Select/swipe/borrow three yellow page books from neighbors/friends/enemies and hit your local sporting goods store. With the books, head to the backpackapalozza section of the store and pick out a few sturdy/cool/outrageous rigs. Stuff the phone books in, adjust the straps and go for a walk. Now break out into a run to simulate future dashes for trains/ ferries/ toilets and make the sales people nervous. These steps should quickly reveal the perfect pack.
Now, you may have read other publications suggesting highly technical ways to select a backpack. Trust me, until you have run for the last ferry from Italy to Greece, you have no idea how to pick a pack. The three phone book test solves this nicely.
What To Take
There are a few mantras that every person should chant before packing for Europe. These chants were developed originally by the little known, Oh-My-Back Monks of Southeast Asia. The “OMB” Monks were known for traveling half way to far off cities, turning around, returning home and then traveling the full way to said cities. Religious experts opined as to the deep metaphysical meaning of such trips. They were later embarrassed when the monks revealed the back and forth nature of the trips was due to forgetting something, often whether they had turned off the iron. Nonetheless, such chants have become the guiding light of experienced backpackers.
Let us slowly and clearly chant together,
“I will pack only that which will not result in me being hunched over like a Sherpa.”
“Remember, I can pick it [(lower voice) toothpaste, book, soap] up over there.”
“I will not stuff thy pack to the point of bursting, for thy damn zippers always break/get snagged/refuse to work.”
“I will learn humility through wearing incredibly wrinkled clothes and shall not bring an iron.”
“I shall bring only one guide book, not one for each country that I MIGHT see.”
“I accept that I will come home wearing something I didn’t take and will have lost/traded/burned much of what I did take.”
For female travelers and, okay, the occasional male,
“I will not bring high heels or a gaggle of make-up.”
Admittedly, chanting these mantras will not bringing you immediate enlightenment. Fret, not. You can always throw items away or send them home in a box to your parents/friends/parole officer. For the resourceful backpacker, it is not unheard of to send particularly smelly/discolored/toxic clothing to an ex-girlfriend/ex-boyfriend/little brother. Follow these practical guidelines and you will soon happily be speaking in a loud voice to make foreigners understand you.
The Evidence
This is the hard part for most travelers to wrap their minds around. You will forget those special moments of your trip when you met the hunk Sven or babe Svenetta from Sweden and had a romantic evening/danced the night away/got arrested in Ios/Ibiza/the airport. Maybe not immediately, but you will eventually forget.
You will also forget or lose the contact information of people you meet, despite meticulously writing it down on the back of a coaster/napkin/your hand in a bar/poetry reading/jail at three in the morning. Surprisingly, said coaster/napkin/hand often survive the night/day/weekend and get deposited in your already trashed backpack. Of course, their presence is often forgotten when you later put a Oktoberfest mug/wet towel/toothbrush in. The extra padding at the bottom of your pack is specifically designed to deal with the decomposing result. Still, the information is gone and so is your future with Sven/Svenetta.
To properly record the magical moments of your trip, you must take a diary or journal. Don’t worry, you can burn it later before you get married/your parents get nosey/you have kids. You want a journal in a water/beer/sweat resistant case. Of course, I prefer a Nomad Travel Journal, but just make sure you take something. When you have some extra time in the bus/train/jail cell, you can record how you got there and the people you met.
Trust me, when you, Sven/Svenetta and your nine children are sitting on the porch, you will greatly enjoy reading your journal.
Of course, that assumes you didn’t burn it.

An outdoor Christmas decoration holds a special place in people’s hearts. Christmas is an elaborate celebration for many people throughout the world. For most families, Christmas involves an extensive amount of decorating, both indoors and outside. Many towns and neighborhoods hold lighting and decoration contests to see who can come up with the best seasonal decorative scheme for their home. There are many different types of outdoor Christmas decorations.
One type of outdoor Christmas decoration is a homemade decoration. These are perhaps the most sentimental decorations, as families typically get together during the season to create and places these in their yard or on their homes. They are less costly than store bought decorations, as they can save over half the price of store Christmas decorations. Simple items like wire coat hangers can be fashioned into reindeer, trees, stars, bells, candy canes, and other ornamental signs of the season. They can then be wrapped with outdoor lights to illuminate the night. Strips of wood can be fashioned into figures like Santa Clause and set to illuminate the blackness of a winter night as well.
Let an outdoor Christmas decoration spice up your home for the holidays
Another type of outdoor Christmas decoration is a string of lights, though these days they come in many shapes and sizes. Lights are, perhaps, the most popular form of outdoor Christmas decoration. It is possible to purchase lights in the shape of trees or stars. You can also buy lights to hang on your house. For these, you can by dangling lights that resemble icicles or a simple strand with one white or colored bulb every few inches. These strings of lights can flash or blink in any pattern or you can simply have them stay on in a constant fashion.
One final type of outdoor Christmas decoration is a pre-made statue or figure of some type that has lighting capabilities. These come in many shapes and sizes from religious figures and nativity scenes to popular characters like Santa Clause or cartoon characters dressed in festive gear. Air inflated decorations like this are gaining in popularity. They us a constant source of air to stay inflated much like a children’s jumping tent might. Additionally, they are lit for visibility at night. They are inexpensive to own and operate, and look quite festive on the lawn or on the roof with the lights.
An outdoor Christmas decoration can be an important addition to any holiday season. Be sure to choose the right decoration for you.
Adam Peters writes regularly for an online interior home decorating magazine. Peters contributes adding reviews very often on decorating and design topics. You can also reach interesting articles on easter and christmas decorations at his site

Visiting the best Orlando timeshare resorts: a report on my family’s trip to Central Florida, Walt Disney World, and the perfect place to spend our holiday every year.
When we left Heathrow airport, we were certain that we should be wearing several layers of clothing. The frost on our windshield as we left home was almost too thick to scrape away in the short time that we had between leaving the house and arriving in the proper time for our security screening Our children, Emily and Peter, were jumping up and down when we told them that we would be taking a holiday to Walt Disney World. The morning of our flight, they were not so brave about being on a long plane trip to Florida. Emily was getting worried about being near the airplane window, so she rode all the way on the middle seat, clutching her favorite Disney Princess jacket. Peter was rather amusing to the flight attendant, asking her several times if she lived in the castle at the Magic Kingdom. But getting back to the perfect timeshare rental: the Orlando area has so many timeshare resorts, we were almost at a loss when we pulled up the information on the web. So many timeshare condos had web sites that offered the lowest price, or timeshare condos near Walt Disney World, or even the most luxury accommodations and lowest price around. The literature and pamphlets that we received in the post every day seemed to confuse us even more. There seemed to be no end to the flurry of timeshare Orlando information that we could be exposed to. I decided to have an evening organization session with my wonderful husband, Angus. Angus is in accounting, and he can usually spot a dubious deal or the hole in a discount timeshare rental’s pitch.
We sat down to tea and began to sift through the dizzying array of brochures for Orlando area timeshare rentals. Could we toss out the brochures without photos? Certainly we did. How about excluding the timeshare resorts that were situated no where near the Walt Disney World property. We placed several brochures into a a maybe-pile, and then discarded the rest that we deemed to be the sort of timeshare rental that we could live without. The photos would seem to be aged, or the rooms very sparse, dark and crowded. Tiny rooms and a lack of suitable amenities would be the last thing that our family would need to endure on a week long holiday to Orlando. Nor would we entertain the notion of staying in Tampa, or Sarasota, since my sister had made the mistake of thinking that these locations were anywhere remotely near Walt Disney World. Staying in a timeshare condo would save us money, we reasoned. The best price for a family meal is free- or simply paying a fair price for a small batch of groceries that are easily transported to the timeshare rental. The kids would rather eat their Mum’s eggs and bake in the morning rather than try new foods, and we had found out some information on a grocery store near Orlando that had a very good selection of British foods and drinks. Certainly we needed to take Peter’s intense dislike of new foods into account, since a stubborn five year old wants only what he wants and doesn’t=t understand that the choices in another country are different.
Angus and I decided to ask our family, friends and co-workers for advice on choosing the perfect timeshare resort. The best place to stay seemed to be the easiest way to bring about a very biased opinion on their last holiday timeshare condos, or the worst timeshare resorts that they ever endured while taking the kids on holiday to Disney World. We received a deluge of information on where to shop, where to dine, and where to find a perfect lodging in the form of a timeshare rental. The legacy of our sister’s suffering in the far hinterlands of Sarasota made us acutely aware of the importance of landing a reservation for a timeshare rental near the Walt Disney World area, and yet far enough away from the constant buzz of Orlando traffic. No one had seemed to agree with anyone else on choosing this ideal timeshare in Orlando, and no one could precisely recall the name of the scary sea food restaurant where they received a great, cheap discount on an early bird special and a severe case of Montezuma’s revenge. Auntie Lilly could tell us the best place for finding an emergency room (since she had been the worst case of sunburn seen in Orlando, having made her own sun block in a fit of being stupid and cheap). My colleague at work decided to take me into the loo and stress the importance of having my tetanus shot updated, and she wouldn’t elaborate ion this subject. She is a bit of a curious thing, but she did slip me the number of a rather tawdry looking timeshare resort that had a scary looking brochure. Angus had a colleague to lunch on Saturday, and after a few pints, he revealed the secret to his family’s glowing reviews of all of their holidays: he took separate holidays from his wife and their kids. No wonder the kids seemed to really want to go to Disney at each holiday.
Angus and I decided to take the map we had bought of the Central Florida area and draw a wide circle around each of the attractions, museums, theme parks and shopping outlet malls we had decided upon visiting. The area near each one of these was becoming more familiar to us as we narrowed our search to find the vacation timeshare rental of our dreams. Aside from landing a reservation within the gates of Disney at a price within our reach (not bloody likely to ever happen, if you ask me), we decided to take our search to the area near Davenport, Florida for our timeshare condo. It seemed to ring a bell with most of the family and friends that we talked about it with, and all of them agreed that the Davenport area was near Orlando=s many theme parks, and yet close to the clean country air. The kids would like to be somewhere with a pool, and we found a nice place to get a good view of the theme park’s fireworks in the night sky after the kids had their nightly bath, and it was rather near the highway that takes you into Orlando. We even found a nice place to rent a timeshare condo that would be close to all of the shops and dining, yet far away enough from the hectic pace of downtown Orlando and the area near the theme parks. We decided to go for the timeshare rental that gave us a discount for traveling all the way from Heathrow, and also featured an address in Davenport. The timeshare condo was pleasant, clean, quiet and staffed with rather friendly Floridians. We had heard of rude service in the states, but we had no such experience in our timeshare condo. We wrapped up our search at the last minute, secure in knowing that our timeshare condos were the type of place we could take the kids to for years to come, basking in the central Florida sun and the love we felt from our kids.
