In one of the three tests conducted by Carlson, professional astrologers were asked to match the birth charts of student volunteers with personality profiles generated by the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) questionnaire for an astrology test. The birth charts of the volunteers were then divided among 28 participating astrologers. For comparison purposes, astrologers were given three CPI personality profiles with every birth chart. Simply, the idea was to determine if the astrologers would be able to collectively match the charts with the correct CPI profiles in a statistically meaningful way. As part of the assignment, the astrologers were asked to identify which profile was the best, second- and third-best “fit” with the natal chart, and to rank how strongly they felt about their choices on a scale from one to 10.

A similar test was done to see if student test subjects could identify their own CPI personality profiles from a group that included their own and two others. A third test was devised to see if the student volunteers would perform equally well, or badly, when the personality profiles were prepared by professional astrologers.
Effectively, the design for all three tests was the same. But student volunteers were not asked to subjectively rank or indicate how strongly they felt about their choices.

It was Carlson’s conclusion that the astrologers failed to match horoscopes with the correct profiles. He also reported that the student volunteers were unable to identify their own CPI profiles, and fared no better when the written profiles were prepared by professional astrologers.

A failed or chance result would mean that subjects only picked the correct profiles about 33 percent of the time (once in every three tries), which is roughly the result Carlson reported for all three tests.

When the study was completed in 1983 Carlson was a PhD candidate in physics at the University of California with no special training or expertise in psychological testing, Concerns about the methods used and conclusions reached quickly surfaced.

I noticed that the rhythm section is in complete synchronicity, which is key in demonstrating and delivering the command over you, the listener. I do not have the opportunity to hear music like this that often so it was a welcome and appreciated change. With music that has so much to offer, so many facets and moods, there is something for everyone. his winnings in annual installments but said that he had plans
to donate his winnings to victims of Hurricane Katrina. His
first jackpot win had allowed him to travel the world, now he
wanted to give back.

Another big winner was Amy Nishimura from Hawaii. At 71, Ms.
Nishimura was visiting Las Vegas on vacation and hit the $8.9
million Megabucks jackpot at the Freemont hotel after spending
about $100 on the slots. Ms. Nishimura was another winner of the
Megabucks network that is linked to over 150 casinos across
Nevada. More players mean a higher payout for the lucky winners.
She said that she had had dreams about her win before she hit

The largest jackpot ever won in Vegas was $39.7 million and was
won in March of 2003 at the Excalibur casino. The lucky winner
was a 25-year-old man from Los Angeles that turned a $100 stint
at the slots into the biggest win ever recorded. The instantly
wealthy man was visiting Vegas for the NCAA basketball
tournaments and just sat down at the slot machine to play for a
while. He walked away with a whopping 1.5 million dollar payout
for the next 25 years.

While we can all dream, the big winners are all just like you
and me. They decided to sit down and take a chance and lady luck
was on their side. As Mr. Sherwin has proven, lady luck doesn’t
always only strike once.

starts from the fingers, through the pick-up to the guitar and
out. If you don’t start there, you’re spinning in circles and
end up with a transparent (fuzzy) sound without body and
response. “Your fingers are your tone generators”. Not the amps

what guitar lessons teach you, not teaching you a song without

fly”, you’ll go down the line to find the problem with your rig.
The same goes for finding your sound. When establishing your
sound you start with your technique, through the pick-up on down
to the amp. With trouble shooting on stage, you should start
with the amp and go down the line back to you, which make’s
sense. Since you’ve established your rig set up. As you’re
trying to fix what was working, you back track.

This saves time and controls moods, besides the over all
situation’s under control. Then, if and when you need to use a
stage tech, you’ll have a template in which to explain what it
is you require from the person “you” hire. There’s nothing more
frustrating than hiring someone, that has no idea what it is you
need or want. Imagine working for someone without a clue. A band
leader who expects you to read his mind? Communication starts
with a plan.

Good luck and sound good, where ever your muse takes you, find a
clue.
