Do you realize the if we were to quit buying oil from the Arabs, that they would more that likely go out of business, just think about the power that this gives us over them and what they do, they are wealthy and powerful because of the USA, and the oil that we buy from them, their oil companies make billions of dollars per year, and most of it is being sold to our country.
So the question that I want to pose, is why are they allowed to import their oil to our country if we know that they support all the things that we are against, I’ve got a word that I’m fully sure that you have heard once or twice, that word it activists, naturalist, tree hugger, the other word for it is whiner, these people for no good reason, are keeping most of the oil wells in our country capped off.
And yes we still drill and find more oil every day, but they continue to put moronic rules on the oil industry in our country, and make them cap more and more wells all the time, here is some of the whining that I have heard, if we uncap the oil wells in our country, we will lose all that ecology around the areas where we allow them to open the well, would you rather lose a little of the surrounding environment, or our country, our home land.
If we could use just half of the oil wells that we have, things could be a lot different in this country, if you read my articles, then you’ve heard me talking about buying American products, this is one of those products that we could start to buy more of, if the activists would just shut up and think before they open their big mouths.
We could be keeping billions dollars that are going to the Arabs as we speak, or I guess you could locate the gas stations that use American oil and buy their gas, but that’s not the point that I’m trying to make here, the infusion of money that using American oil instead of Arab oil could bring to this country would go a long way toward curing the national debt that we carry right now.
We have a huge reserve of our own resources, and if we start to use them, this will help loosen up the strangle hold that the Arabs have on our country as far as the oil and gasoline go, but so many people in this country just don’t think before they go out and raise all kinds of hell for some ridiculous cause, that can’t possibly help anybody.
Yeah so we lose a little bit of the wilderness, to gain our independence from Arab oil, in my opinion that’s not a lot to give up, if it helps us take a little control back from the Arabs in this area, just think if we kept that 100 Billion or so dollars here in our country, every year, rather then letting the Arabs have it, it could do a lot for our country.
It stands to reason that if we keep our money in our country that it will help us out a lot more in the long run, and at the same time loosen up the Arabs grip on our oil industry, and return some of the power to our country, because if you think about it, we really are the ones in control here, just open our oil wells up, and put a moratorium on oil being imported from other countries.
I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, and have been in the automotive business for about 25 years, and during that time I have worked in all facets of the industry, plus owned my own shops, like I do now.
Starting in 2007, local elections in Scotland will be held for the first time under the single transferable vote (STV) system.
The principal of STV is simple. A person may win an election in first past the post (FPTP) elections with a small actual share of the vote. For example, if there were five candidates standing in a FPTP election, the break down could be like the one below:
Candidate one (duly elected): 500 votes (26.66%)
Candidate two: 499 votes (26.60%)
Candidate three: 450 votes (23.99%)
Candidate four: 400 votes (21.32%)
Candidate five: 27 votes (1.43%)
1376 people did not vote for candidate one but, since candidate one got the highest number of votes, they were deemed the first past the post.
Under STV even the 27 voters for candidate five matter. Wards usually become larger, with three or four councillors elected at one given election. In a three member ward, any candidate who received over twenty five percent of the vote would immediately be elected, in a four member the percentage would be reduced to over twenty. Imaging the result above was for a three member ward, candidates one and two would be successfully elected outright. Then the process of vote transferral takes place.
In a STV election an elector does not just place one cross on a ballot paper. Instead no crosses are used at all: the electors rank all the candidates standing, from favourite to least. Their first preference would receive a 1, the second preference a 2 and so forth. After any candidates had qualified outright, preference votes would be added for the remaining candidates, excluding the lowest placed candidate.
This can often produce some startling results! A minority party candidate may be very few people’s first choice, but gather a significant amount of second preferences from voters across all of the major parties. Not everybody will vote for all three or four candidates of their chosen party and, indeed, some parties may not even run the full amount of candidates. In some areas, parties may run too many candidates, although this is rare as it serves no real purpose.
Through this system, even those wards considered the safest could see a split. As a result, the disenfranchisement of those voters who do not vote for a majority party will end and an increase in first votes for minority parties may ensue, once the voters understand that every voter does truly matter. No longer will political parties be able to pronounce “X can’t win here, vote Y to keep Z out.”
On the other hand, STV is complicated. It takes considerable time to process and also considerable time to get used to. It is already used in Ireland and in some mayoral elections, where many people still place a cross or spoil their ballot paper as they have not read instructions clearly. For the elderly in particular it is a confusing system and, in reality, still open to tactical voting in the placing of preferences.
Its impact on Scottish democracy will be difficult to tell till after 2007 but one thing is certain. Any move to try to get the voters involved in politics and see every vote as important can only be a good thing, even if it is unsuccessful in the long run.

produo de novas ferramentas. Fantstico. Ento. Isso d poder
para cada uma das pessoas dentro da cadeia produtiva do Petroleo.
Energia elétrica. Vem da gua, precisa-se de meios de
transmisso e chegaremos também no mesmo problema. Poder. Quem
pode produzir e distribuir tem poder. Poder de vender, cobrar ou
até de no entregar.
Em todas as sociedades ficticias que tenho lido, TODAS chegaram
a uma forma de produo de energia abundante, que no h mais o
poder… com isso, quebra-se o processo e todos poderemos viver
em uma comunidade, sem medos, onde todos tem o seu mnimo social
atendido.
Vamos ento imaginar que a humanidade consiga encontrar esta
forma de produo de energia. Ento, no haver mais fome,
porque a produo no ter os caros custos de transporte e
transformao. Com isso todos podero ter a comida. O mesmo se
faz para a parte de proteo e sade. Porque TUDO depende de
energia para existir.
