All night horror flicks - Many theatres set up a special all-nighter of horror and mystery films. Usually they start at

Show, although this varies with the theatres. If you’re prepared to stay awake, this is a great way to spend the evening with
some friends.

Visit old cemeteries - What says “spooky” more than a dimly lit, creepy cemetery at night? Who knows what you’ll see as you
stroll past the various tombstones.

Pick a few neighborhoods and do a walking or driving tour - Take a look at how some people have spruced up their yard for
Halloween night. This is a great way to get ideas on what you could do next year in your own yard. Just be careful if you
drive by watching out for the children crossing the road.

Take a haunted hayride - Some farms provide haunted hayride tours on Halloween night. Driving past eerie, leafless trees, hearing the screech of an owl and rolling through
moonlit fields, you may just see the unexpected. Often these are followed up by snacks and drinks at a bonfire back at the
farm. What a cool way to spend the evening.

Have your own dusk to dawn movie fest - Get some friends together and rent 3 or 4 horror movies. Pop some popcorn, order a

Don’t worry about how it sounds, grammar or other mistakes, you can go back to fix these.

2.Join online and offline groups/message boards and chats
If you already know what you want to write about, consider joining writer groups at your local library, or online groups, along with message boards and chats. It’s a great way to network with other writers and published authors. It’s also a good place to share your work and receive feedback. Many places online are free to join, some require a membership which usually consist of a user name, e-mail address and password for your user name. Some request more information such as a name, address and sometimes phone number.

3.The Library
You’ve probably heard about some books that writers refer to, this could be writer markets, e-book publishing, self publishing and generally how to improve your writing. But what do you do when you can’t afford to buy these books from your local bookstore or online? A trip to your library is the key. Many libraries carry writer resource books, which if you have a library card, are free. If you’re living out of the area, the library may require a fee for membership. The book you’re looking for may not always be at your local library, however libraries borrow from other libraries in and out of state. The method of receiving outside books is called Inter-Library Loan. Later on, if you find the book to be a great resource, you may be able to purchase a used copy online.

4.Researching
The Internet is also another good resource for information. Keep in mind that not every resource you find online is going to be an honest good resource. It will take time to sort out which websites are useful. Most information is free, so you can sit back and research in the comfort of your home. If you don’t have a computer with Internet access, check your local library and see if you can use one of theirs.

5.Workshops
Workshops taught by experts is a great way to learn from the professionals, but only if you can afford it! Make sure the topic of the workshop is based around your interest. For instance, if you love fiction..it wouldn’t be a good idea to go to a workshop based only on non-fiction. It’s a good idea to register early to ensure a spot at the event. Bring a new legal pad, plus a few writing tools to take notes.
6.Contests
After writing a while, you may want to enter contests. Some require an entry fee. I suggest staying away from the entry fee contests until you’ve entered some other free ones. That way you can get a feel for how contests work. Spend some time writing and re-writing your entries. If you’ve written your entry in 5 or so minutes, the judges will notice it immediately. You wouldn’t want a reputation for sloppy work.

Weekend in Mauritius - for sure, everybody in the world is looking forward to weekends (at least if you work Monday to Friday), but nowhere a weekend is celebrated in the way Mauritians are doing it. The best location is clear: one of the public beaches. One of the hot shots is the beach of Flic en Flac : located closest to the big cities in the center of the island (Curepipe, Quatre Bornes, Rose Hill, Vacoas and Beau Bassin) it receives an uncountable number of cars, busses, motor cycles and people arriving by public transport. Other preferred places are the beaches of Mont Choisy and Trou aux Biches in the North, Belle Mare on the East coast and Le Morne in the South East of Mauritius.

Usually the pilgrimage starts Saturdays noon or afternoon (as many people still have to work on Saturday mornings), although Sundays is busier. Well equipped little groups arrive one after the other: food, beverages (lots of beer, rum, beer, rum and the same again), towels, balls, music instruments, radios, grandma, children, neighbors, friends are brought along. Looking for a small place under the large trees, the party begins at least until sunset. Young couples strolling on the beach, cool guys and young girls cruise the beach up and down like on a cat walk. Friends playing ball, children are running in the shallow water. Others are only sitting, talking and observing. Usually with sunset the party is over, at least for most of them, because for many groups that’s not enough: building up a kind of tent (one tarpaulin, fixed between 4 trees) they start cooking local food on little fires. While the women prepare the dinner, men are busy playing domino in the light of battery torch lights. And also here it is very important that there is sufficient material, means beer and rum and beer and rum… It rarely goes late, after dinner its “dodo-time”, sleeping. For sure, as the next morning (Sunday) is coming sooner, the party has to continue. Also on Sunday mornings the beach hoppers are starting: some friends renting a large bus and going from beach to beach, playing the local sega music and dancing on the way from beach to beach. Usually all is over with Sundays sunset. The caravan tries to go home, the traffic jam is worst than on a Monday morning…yeah: Monday morning: that’s the last episode of the weekend: when the cleaning troops are strolling over the beaches to pick up all what is left over from the weekend.More on Mauritius Weather.

Unfortunately the “cures” that you mentioned are based upon witchcraft / magic / superstition and have no grounding in Traditional Chinese Feng Shui……

To hang a wind-chime inside where it will not chime by itself can actually have the potential to attract Spirits (ghosts) if you have a Flying Stars combination there of the following stars - 2, 5 & 6, this is especially so if the area is excessively Yin (dark, damp, cold, etc…).

Try a mirror, if necessary, so you can see who is coming and going behind you, and have happy thoughts whilst cooking and preparing your foods, this is a basic fundamental principle of Macrobiotics. Your energy is imprinted upon your food as you prepare and cook it.

All in all, use your logic, and keep it so that nothing looks out of place, and always remember that you have the power to overcome more than Feng Shui could ever dreamof, just through living a good, honest life!
