Gevalia Coffee Timeline

Before you take that next drink of your coffee, think about where it has come from. Many people take history for granted but when you actually sit down to think about it you’ll want to smile.

In 1920 Gevalia Coffee was introduced to Sweden and they continued to fix things that needed fixing and make it the best that they could possibly do. The company in Sweden was called, “Victor Theodore Engwall & Co and for 120 years they stayed, that is until the big Kraft Foods heard about them.

1971 they would sell Gevalia Coffee to Kraft Foods and make history.

1983 The United States would learn about the Gevalia Coffee and want some for themselves. This would be the first mail-order delivery service done by the company. They would then do a ton of advertising for the company all over the world.

2005 Hypertouch sues Kraft for their advertising, upsetting millions when they spammed people online.

2007 it would be announced that Gevalia now had over 40 different types of coffee, teas and of course chocolates.

As you can see there is a lot to smile about here. What would’ve happened if the Sweden company had never sold it over to Kraft? Would they have continued to be successful with it or would it have died down?
