The point of a quality improvement program should not only be to improve a
product or the delivery of healthcare but it should also be to save time and money by reducing or eliminating waste or errors. For example, a doctor or nurse practitioner writes a prescription. We wouldn’t deliver some of the best quality pills along with a few randomly chosen pills and we wouldn’t completely incorrectly fill the prescription. To do either could create serious consequences. Rather, we want to only deliver the best quality. But there is another side to not achieving the best quality. If we incorrectly fill the prescription, even if there is no patient harm, there
is waste. Once the error is found, the prescription must be refilled and paperwork redone. Wasted time and money for the healthcare provider!
Quality projects build processes that prevent errors and waste. In fact, the main goal
of lean healthcare is to eliminate waste in a structured approach. The Japanese use
the term kaisen event. They use this idea to eliminate waste in any environment,
whether manufacturing or service orientated.
Quality projects that I have done have always resulted in avoidance of waste and
thus a savings in time and cost. Almost all projects I have read about in journals
present the savings of cost and time. Hence, if you are involved in a quality project
you need to calculate the costs in time and money of accomplishing a process as it
currently exists and then do the same for the “quality improved” process. There
should be a substantial savings of both time and money. After all, time is money.
To make the required analysis I suggest that one of the project team members be
your cost accountant or chief financial officer. Doing so will improve the accuracy of
calculations of savings. Plus, you will impress upon one of the leaders of your
healthcare unit the importance of continuing quality projects. In fact, your project
team will probably be lauded for their achievement.
Finally, in totaling the costs of a project, don’t forget to factor in the costs of the
team in time and money. Count the costs of materials used, the pays of all involved
and the time spent by all on the project. If the project is well executed and planned,
you should realize a substantial cost/benefit ratio. That is, the costs of executing
the project should be a fraction of the realized savings. Calculating this ratio speaks
the language of upper management and directors and produces positive benefits,
such as the demand for more of such projects. You will be able to aptly demonstrate
that “Quality is Free.”
Overall, as demonstrated, quality improvement projects should not only deliver a
superior product but also should demonstrate the savings in time and money. Doing
so ensures the continuance of quality improvement at a site, which will produce
superior products with little waste.

Move over Desktop PC, it’s the time of the laptop, or at least that what the enormous demand alludes to. Taiwanese companies have said component scarcities will affect deliveries this year due to the big demands. Laptops have just been a phenomenal industry to watch. There has been no decline in shipments. The technology is progressing in all directions simultaneously too.
With all the latest insights in technology gaming laptops have gained a great amount in my opinion. Good gaming laptops can be picked up pretty cheap for medium gaming requirements. I play games on my laptop on a regular basis and must say I’m delighted how playable few of the intense games are. Smaller parts that perform faster and are operate at lower temperatures also means that gone are the days of the big laptops for gaming. Sure nobody is disagreeing that there is a speed gap between laptops and desktop pcs in relation to gaming however there should always be one right? Gaming laptops are constantly pushing the speed barriers of notebooks so its always a true measure of how far the technology has come in that relation.
Many small manufacturers supply custom built laptops to specialist sectors. The concept of obtaining after market parts appeals to some consumers in my view. Certain sectors benefit because they only have aquire what they need. The vast majority the systems found in highstreet shops are made to get the most market share and not the small niche markets. Custom laptops offer a work around to this. There are tons of resellers selling custom laptops, with exceptional customer care. The fact that there is choice and competition makes its very possible.
Ample amounts of exciting laptops are coming out soon. Notebook computers simply for accessing the internet etc are coming to the market one after the other. Its crazy how one smart laptop has made a new market. People need slim, amazingly weightless laptops but they also want them to have massive screens. I’m certain some manufacturers are proactively working on such activities. I’m certain we’ll see ultra portable gaming laptops soon. What will be launched next? Begin applying your imagination.
If you’re looking for cheap gaming laptops check them out here.

Before you take that next drink of your coffee, think about where it has come from. Many people take history for granted but when you actually sit down to think about it you’ll want to smile.
In 1920 Gevalia Coffee was introduced to Sweden and they continued to fix things that needed fixing and make it the best that they could possibly do. The company in Sweden was called, “Victor Theodore Engwall & Co and for 120 years they stayed, that is until the big Kraft Foods heard about them.
1971 they would sell Gevalia Coffee to Kraft Foods and make history.
1983 The United States would learn about the Gevalia Coffee and want some for themselves. This would be the first mail-order delivery service done by the company. They would then do a ton of advertising for the company all over the world.
2005 Hypertouch sues Kraft for their advertising, upsetting millions when they spammed people online.
2007 it would be announced that Gevalia now had over 40 different types of coffee, teas and of course chocolates.
As you can see there is a lot to smile about here. What would’ve happened if the Sweden company had never sold it over to Kraft? Would they have continued to be successful with it or would it have died down?

The City has a few of the top museums on the entire planet in reality it has many hundreds of museums & exhibitions both large and small. There are tons to select from despite this for understandable reasons some are more visited than others. A number of the fashionable London museums to take a look at today are the British Museum, Natural History & Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Imperial War Museum and the National Maritime Museum.
The British Museum has only just once more with a costly face lift & is extensively regarded as being the finest museum in the entire world where incredible 4,000 year old Egyptian rulers have a considerably more exciting spirit world than they ever planned. Sited in the Centre of the Capital this is without doubt one of the primary museums in The City to take the family to visit. There are ample of great collected works and corridors to glimpse at, some of which take account of the reading room and the most recent African collection, which experts advertise as being the world’s largest and most preeminent in terms of range & quality with over two hundred thousand objects.
The Natural History & Science Museums are appropriate for either youngsters & grown-ups. The Natural History Museum structure is excellent any dinosaur fan will without a doubt relish getting lost in all the history that escorts this unique museum.
The Science Museum is astounding, and very up to date in relation of when science breakthroughs are made. There are a squad of scientists at the museum running actual research in which you can be a subject of if you wish. There are oodles of exhilarating hands on things to do for both teenagers and adults.
The Victoria and Albert museum what’s more usually recognised as the V&A is a gigantic museum filled with culture. It’s worth a visit for the cast rooms alone. The museum itself is free to go in and is the earth’s main decorative & arts & design museum. The Imperial War Museum looks a lot at the experience of the imperial world war rather than its prosecution. Some great demonstrations like that of the “The Blitz” & “The Holocaust” are enormously sad. Check out Time Out today for the latest London Attractions.

Do you realize the if we were to quit buying oil from the Arabs, that they would more that likely go out of business, just think about the power that this gives us over them and what they do, they are wealthy and powerful because of the USA, and the oil that we buy from them, their oil companies make billions of dollars per year, and most of it is being sold to our country.
So the question that I want to pose, is why are they allowed to import their oil to our country if we know that they support all the things that we are against, I’ve got a word that I’m fully sure that you have heard once or twice, that word it activists, naturalist, tree hugger, the other word for it is whiner, these people for no good reason, are keeping most of the oil wells in our country capped off.
And yes we still drill and find more oil every day, but they continue to put moronic rules on the oil industry in our country, and make them cap more and more wells all the time, here is some of the whining that I have heard, if we uncap the oil wells in our country, we will lose all that ecology around the areas where we allow them to open the well, would you rather lose a little of the surrounding environment, or our country, our home land.
If we could use just half of the oil wells that we have, things could be a lot different in this country, if you read my articles, then you’ve heard me talking about buying American products, this is one of those products that we could start to buy more of, if the activists would just shut up and think before they open their big mouths.
We could be keeping billions dollars that are going to the Arabs as we speak, or I guess you could locate the gas stations that use American oil and buy their gas, but that’s not the point that I’m trying to make here, the infusion of money that using American oil instead of Arab oil could bring to this country would go a long way toward curing the national debt that we carry right now.
We have a huge reserve of our own resources, and if we start to use them, this will help loosen up the strangle hold that the Arabs have on our country as far as the oil and gasoline go, but so many people in this country just don’t think before they go out and raise all kinds of hell for some ridiculous cause, that can’t possibly help anybody.
Yeah so we lose a little bit of the wilderness, to gain our independence from Arab oil, in my opinion that’s not a lot to give up, if it helps us take a little control back from the Arabs in this area, just think if we kept that 100 Billion or so dollars here in our country, every year, rather then letting the Arabs have it, it could do a lot for our country.
It stands to reason that if we keep our money in our country that it will help us out a lot more in the long run, and at the same time loosen up the Arabs grip on our oil industry, and return some of the power to our country, because if you think about it, we really are the ones in control here, just open our oil wells up, and put a moratorium on oil being imported from other countries.
I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, and have been in the automotive business for about 25 years, and during that time I have worked in all facets of the industry, plus owned my own shops, like I do now.

Here are some hot list-building tips for you to grow your list and your business.
1. Offer an outstanding gift or bonus for subscriptions. Not too long ago, any kind of a free gift or bonus was more than enough to get subscribers. In fact, in many cases, no “bribe” was needed at all! But, as more and more marketers began to send emails and ezines, and as spam increased, prospects began to be more discerning about whom they gave their email address to.
To really be successful in your list-building efforts, you must offer an irresistible deal for subscribers. Sometimes, if people are interested enough in your topic, they will sign up for your ezine or course. But most of the time you must prove to subscribers that you are serious about creating a relationship with them. This means you must provide them with solid content at the beginning, not advertisements. In some cases, this may mean you must offer a free course AND a free report (or some other combination). But do whatever it takes to get that subscriber on your list.
2. Add more opt-in boxes in your sales letter or home page. The best case scenario would be to have your home page be dedicated to your opt-in list as a lead-capture page. But if you won’t, or can’t, do that, put your opt-in subscription box on your page as many times as you can. Ideally, you want it at the top, in the middle, and at the bottom. As your prospect reads your sales page, he or she may become more interested in your topic. Thus, the more times he or she sees your opt-in box, the greater the chance they will leave their email for you to communicate with them.
3. Build your list virally. Write a free report on a useful topic (making sure to put your website in the report), visit the forums, and offer to give your report to anyone who wants it. Marketers will take you up on your offer because good marketers are always looking for good content to share with their lists; they don’t usually care where it comes from. When a marketer gives your report to their list, your website link will be viewed by many who read the report, and visited by many.
If you follow these tips, your list will grow and will become like gold for you.

Some husbands have a perplexing time keeping an erection and some females have awfully long sex drives, meaning it will take the gal an awfully long time to come. Because of this difference in sex drives, sex will probably turn into an annoying and undesirable experience. That’s why vibrating dildos could be helpful. If the guy spunks early in the game, or even if the woman just takes longer than her partner, he can continue to penetrate the lady with the slim dildo. That way all sexual play does not have to stop. It gives the bloke time to charge his stamina and keeps the female stimulated. Therefore when he is prepared to come back into the session, the chick will still be aroused enough to accept the bloke.
Your most sensual soft spot is your thoughts. And as significantly as innumerable females will not admit this, the penis is a focus of fertility, no matter how huge or small, it is still associated with power. Penetrating your woman with a thick dildo will probably make a fantasy of power mischief reality. Perfect for the quiet night in - Sex Toys.
Some females delight in the sensation of feeling full in their vagina or anus. Whenever a sexy toy such as a big dildo, penetrates the vagina or anus, the muscles contract around it. Loads of people see the tightening of all of these muscles to be incredibly enjoyable.

In Part 1 of this article we discussed how to select office furnishings and why making the right choices were crucial to your comfort and ability to remain organized. In Part 2 we will take a look at your basic home office equipment needs.
1. Computers
The type of computer that’s best for you depends upon the type of work that you do, and whether you spend all of your time in your home office, or go out on the road to meet clients. While there are a seemingly endless choice of makes and models, there are essentially only three basic choices.
For most home office situations, the desktop computer reigns supreme. However, if you are on the road a lot then you can find notebook computers with nearly the same horsepower as the best desktop. If you do choose a notebook, the consider one that has an available docking station. That way, when you are in your home office, you can easily use a standard keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
Even if you have a desktop or notebook, you might have room in your life for a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). PDAs, such as those from Palm Computing, can be a very valuable personal productivity tool especially if you need real-time access to your appointments, to-do lists, and phone numbers. With the growing popularity of wireless Internet access you can even use your PDA to connect to your home office computer no matter where you are.
2. Printers
Your first decision is what type of technology to go with –laser or ink jet. Laser printers use a toner cartridge/drum assembly while ink jets accept ink tank cartridges. Lasers are generally better for high-volume printing and have higher duty cycles–the manufacturer’s rating for the unit’s recommended monthly workload. Lasers also produce better-quality black text than most ink jets, though some ink-jet models rival low-end lasers.
Lasers are also faster than ink jets, but ink jets offer a lower cost model if you need to print in color. Color laser printers are still very expensive. Since the prices for laser and ink jets are so low, you could consider buying one of each.
Another important item to consider is resolution. A printer’s resolution determines the overall print quality of your documents. Resolution means the number of dots per inch that appear on the page as a horizontal and vertical measurement such as 600 x 600 dots-per-inch or dpi. A 600 x 600 dpi resolution produces adequate quality for most projects.
Your final deciding factor is speed. While printers rarely perform up to the manufacturer’s claims, you should still use the printer’s posted performance specifications as a guideline. An acceptable speed for personal laser printers is around 6 to 10 pages per minute. An acceptable range for ink jet printers is 4 ppm or above.
There are printers that do double, triple, or even quadruple duty as a fax, copier, and scanner as well. You should consider buying one of these models if you have a need for all of this equipment.
3. Internet access
Today you have a wide choice of Internet access protocols. If you access the Internet only to check your email, and browse the web a bit, then you might be able to get by with an inexpensive dial-up account. This type of access generally runs around $9.95 per month and up.
If constant, high-speed Internet access is a requirement for your home office business, then you need to step up to either Digital subscriber lines (DSL), or a cable modem. Both provide sufficient speed for any type of business that you are likely to run out of a home office.
DSL utilizes unused bandwidth on your existing telephone lines to provide a constant connection, while cable modems use your existing cable television network. DSL may not be available in your area. It depends upon your telephone company’s technology and how far you are from a DSL access point.
Cable, on the other hand, is available in all but the most remote markets. Still, if you can’t get either, then there is always the possibility of a satellite uplink. While this was considered extravagant only a few years ago, it’s affordable and no more trouble than installing a small dish antenna on your home and signing up for the service.
4. Telephones
No matter how high-tech your home office is, the telephone is still the most basic and essential of your business tools. Available features are at an all-time high and prices are at an all time low. Almost any home office phone on the market comes equipped with programmable speed-dial numbers, multiple-line capability, speakerphone operation, conference call capability, and headset jacks. In addition, your local phone company offers a wide array of add-on services such as called id, voice mail, flat-rate long distance and more.
If your work keeps you up and around your home office, or if you like to take business calls while out on your patio or while walking around your home, then a cordless phone is a joy to have. There are so many makes and models to choose from that it almost seems like you need a consultant to help you make the right choice. It’s not really that hard. Just keep the following in mind:
a) Choose the right technology
Avoid analog phones at all costs. Analog phones are susceptible to interference from other devices and range is very limited. Also, analog phones permit eavesdropping through baby monitors and other cordless phones.
Digital phones have greater range than analog phones plus they offer better call privacy through the use of random codes that scramble communications between handset and base unit.
Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS) is the best of breed for right now. The Spread Spectrum technology uses multiple channels and frequency hopping to thoroughly scramble communicate between the handset and base unit. You also get increased range due to decreased electrical interference, plus DSS phones are permitted to use more powerful transmitters.
b) Frequency
The range of your cordless phone also depends upon its assigned radio frequency. Most home office phones fall into three frequencies.
900 MHz: This is by far the worst choice. This frequency is crowded with devices such as baby monitors, pagers, and cell phones, and is subject to maximum interference. A 900-MHz phone has a range of around 1,500 feet and prices start at $20.
2.4 GHz: While once the best choice available, the 2.4-GHz spectrum is overrun with wireless networking, microwaves, and other devices. A 2.4-GHz phone has a range of 2,200 feet and pricing starts around $50.
5.8 GHz: This is the latest unlicensed spectrum available for wireless devices. Very few devices operate in this spectrum so there is a marked reduction in interference. A 5.8-GHz phone also boasts a range of around 2,200 feet and start at about $150.
c) Other considerations
Make sure that any phone you select has a headset jack, and then invest in a headset. There is nothing worse than cradling your phone on your shoulder while you consult your files or try to type something on your keyboard. A headset frees both hands while you talk.
Don’t forget to take a look at your potential phone’s battery life as well. Most cordless phones offer at least four hours of talk time and seven days of standby. Make sure that your phone uses replaceable battery packs, and that the battery packs are widely available.
One last thought. Cordless phones are useless without power, so always keep a regular corded phone handy for blackout emergencies.
In Summary
There is a lot more to equipping an efficient home office than first meets the eye. Hopefully this two-part series gets you going in the right direction. Chances are everything that you buy for your home office is tax deductible. Check with your accountant to be sure.

In the United States alone, someone is poisoned every few seconds. 40% of these cases involve children under the age of 3. 50% of these cases involve children under the age of 6. For this reason, it is important to lock up household chemicals in a high cabinet that is out of the reach of children. In 75% of these cases, the poison was a common household product (ie prescription drugs, non-prescription pain killers, vitamins, cosmetics, personal care and cleaning products, house plants, tobacco products and alcohol). Here is a simple check list to use within your home.
Bathroom: medicines, toilet cleaners, antibacterial
cleaners, air fresheners, drain cleaners, mold and mildew remover, and some cosmetics.
Kitchen: glass cleaner, antibacterial cleaner, dishwashing
detergent, all-purpose cleaner, insect sprays, oven cleaner, and ant or roach baits.
Living Room: flea collars, rug or carpet cleaners, furniture polish, cigarette or cigar butts in ash trays, and alcoholic beverages.
Bedroom: total release insect foggers, air fresheners, and moth balls.
Laundry Room: all-purpose cleaner, insect sprays, chlorine bleach, woodstains and finishes, and laundry detergents.
Garage: motor oil, windshield washer fluid, oil-based and latex paints, auto batteries, antifreeze, spot-on pesticides to control fleas and ticks on pets.
Back Yard: weed killers, pool chemicals including
algicides and chlorine, baits for rodent control, insect repellents, and some new bug zappers.
Now that you’ve taken not of what these products are, it’s time to do something about them. Here is what you can do:
First of all, it is very important that you keep all household chemical products and medicines out of the reach and out of the sight of children. These things really should be locked up
whenever they’re not in use. Remember that medicines and household chemicals on kitchen counters or bathroom surfaces are very accessible to young hands. It is also your responsibility to make sure that any medicines that visitors may bring into your home are also kept safely away from children.
Whenever you use toxic products, you should never let them out of your sight, even if you must take them along with you whenever you’re answering the telephone or the doorbell. Studies show that most poisonings actually occur whenever the product is being used.
You need to store all medicines away from household products, and all household chemical products away from food.
Keep products in their original containers with the original label intact. Make sure that you read the label before you use them.
Avoid taking medication in front of children, since
young children tend to immitate adults. You should also make sure that you NEVER call medicine “candy.”
The poison control number (1-800-222-1222) should be posted on or near every home telephone.
You need to know the names of the plants in your house and yard. If and when you fnd a poisonous plant, it should either be placed out of the reach of children or, better yet, removed.
Check your home for lead-based paints. You can receive detailed information about this by contacting the National Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD
