What Is Skin Collagen?
Short Answer: A fibrous protein found in skin, bone, cartilage, tendon, and other connective tissues.
The main structural component of the lower layer of the skin (Dermis) is a protein called collagen. Bundles of collagen molecules pack together throughout the dermis, accounting for three-fourths of the dry weight of skin. Collagen is also responsible for the skin’s strength. Collagen is produced by cells called fibroblasts, which are found scattered throughout the dermis.
Collagen is a connective tissue and is the cement that holds everything together-the primary mortar between the bricks of all of our smooth muscle tissues such as blood vessels, digestive tract, heart, gallbladder, kidneys and bladder, to mention just a few. Collagen, along with elastin, is a key structural component of bones, cartilage, tendons, the skin, lung tissue and blood vessels. Collagen provides structure and firmness to body tissues, while elastin provides flexibility to those same tissues.
As aging occurs, cellular proteins hook together or change shape. These changes keep the proteins from doing their jobs properly resulting in a loss of collagen and less firmness to body tissues. This process eventually leads to wrinkles. Thus, one important target of wrinkle prevention and elimination regimen is to reduce collagen breakdown and increase its supply. This task is achievable but you have to go about it in the right way.
Everyday your skin is exposed to environmental elements such as sunlight and air pollution. These elements cause free radicals to form in the skin, which attacks the collagen layer. This process prematurely ages and damages skin, resulting in everything from fine lines and wrinkles to loss of elasticity and hyperpigmentation. This process is known as photo-aging.
First, vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen , a key structural protein of the skin. Adding vitamin C to a culture of skin cells (fibroblasts) dramatically increases the synthesis of collagen. Secondly, vitamin C is an antioxidant and can help reduce skin damage caused by free radicals. So, when vitamin C is properly delivered to skin cells, there is a good chance to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture. Action C products provide anti-oxidant protection from environmental damage.
Using face creams with vitamin C and Collagen will stimulate skin cells to produce collagen and can partly reverse this process. Stimulating collagen synthesis in aged skin was shown to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture.
Please keep in mind that taking large amounts of vitamin C orally is of little benefit for reducing wrinkles because you cannot orally obtain high enough concentration of vitamin C in the skin to notably increase collagen production.
Action C Skincare is an exclusive 25% Vitamin C based skincare system, containing Aceromine, a natural Vitamin C derived from the Acerola fruit. Acerola is one of the richest sources of Vitamin C in the world. In addition, Acerola contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Niacin, Beta Carotene and minerals. All five products are non-abrasive and gently exfolliate to peel away dead skin cells, revealing a new and more beautiful complexion. Continued use of Action C products will improve the overall health and appearance of your skin, not only now, but also long into the future.
Colosé Cream Egalisante (Collagen Cream) contains vegetable collagen from the leaves and fruits of the Australian Acacia Tree. Beware of products that contain native collagen as these are animal derivatives.

It’s strange. Most webmasters work extremely hard to promote their websites on the Internet. You have probably worked day and night optimizing your pages for the search engines. You have probably spent countless amounts of money on Pay Per Click advertising and Internet marketing consulting.
Yet in the end there are hardly any results. For some reason nobody seems to care about your website.
Did you realize that most Internet marketers are probably working backwards? It’s like watching a home constructor try to put up the walls before the foundation is even laid.
Ask yourself this one question: “When was the Last Time You Referred a Website to a Friend?”
That may seem like an odd question, but think about in anyway. Was it Google? Or perhaps HomeStarRunner.com? Or another website?
Now ask yourself why you referred those websites to your friends. Back in the day when Google was starting to become popular I didn’t hear about it from a TV commercial or from a newspaper ad. I heard about it from my friends.
In fact, if you think about it, most good websites that you know of probably weren’t found by searching for them. You probably had a friend or colleague tell you about the website.
So what makes these websites so shareable? Why would you refer these websites to others?
It is simply because of content.
So ask yourself this question: “Is your website shareable?” There are several components of a website that makes it shareable. I will list a few here.
1. Entertaining Content.
If your website has content that will make browsers laugh then you probably have a shareable website. I don’t think anybody would mind coming across a website that was cleverly funny in any way.
2. Useful Content.
Is your content useful? Or do you write articles just so that you will have more pages for the search engines and for the article directories? The truth is that most content on the Internet is not even created for people! How can anybody expect somebody to really want to stay at a website that was created for a search engine spider?
3. Free Content.
A lot of webmasters are afraid to give any information away for free. They think that any knowledge should be packaged up into an e-book and sold. While there is nothing wrong with doing this, you must be willing to openly give out free content. Otherwise most people will not stick around in anticipation of your next e-book.
4. Well-Formatted Content.
While having a well-designed website won’t guarantee you success, by having a slick design that makes your content readable (or useable depending on your website) you will help keep even more visitors. Choosing a blue background with yellow text might not be the best idea if you have a lot of articles for your visitors to read.
In the end you need to take a look at your website as if you were a visitor and not a search engine. If you were to find your website today without any prior knowledge of it, would you stick around to read more? And better yet, would you refer it to a friend?
If the answer is no, then you have some work to do…

The way you set things up can pay off greatly
As an inside sales representative for a major material handling company, half of the phone calls I receive start the same way: “I’m looking for racking.” It’s a promising start, but it’s usually followed by, “I’m not sure how much I need,” “I don’t know what kind I need” or “I am new to this.”
I could be hundreds or even thousands of miles away from these potential customers and their problems, but with the help of faxes, email, the Internet and digital cameras, we are usually able to share enough information to develop a proposed layout and a request for quotation.
People new to the warehouse or purchasing start out knowing that they have product sitting on the floor taking up space needing to utilize their vertical space better. After all, they are not just paying for square footage; they are heating, cooling and maintaining a three-dimensional space. Even more importantly, that vertical space is a wasted asset that could be used to store needed inventory and can free up floor space for more productive uses.
What else do you need to know? In just a few minutes, you can gather all the information you need before calling your sales representative. This includes:
The length, width and height of a single pallet that has product on it.
The weight of the pallet with product.
The clear height on the warehouse - that is, the actual usable inside height of the warehouse at its lowest and highest points.
Your forklift’s specifications, especially dimensions and lifting capacity.
The length of the rows of racking you wish to create.
The number of pallets you wish to store.
Decide whether you want used, renewed or new material.
Drive in for More Space
Let’s start with the last one first. Face it, racking is racking. It rarely becomes obsolete because of new technology. If your needs can be met by quality refurbished racking, you will save money. However, in order to be certain that your needs will be met, make certain you trust your supplier and the refurbishing process they employ.
Most material handling vendors that deal in used and renewed equipment have finely tuned their methods of pricing in order to give you a quote based on the information listed above. Let’s use drive-in racking as an example.
Drive-In racking is a type of “last in, first out” (LIFO) racking meaning product is loaded as far back in the rack as it will go. When unloading, the nearest available pallet is selected from the same side, as opposed to a FIFO (first in, first out) system where you usually load the product from the rear. In FIFO applications, product either flows to the forward of first position on a conveyor or it will be driven through the system.
Drive-in systems are widely used throughout the warehouse industry in places that have large volumes of pallets to store and seek an affordable, dense pattern. If you have a warehouse with clear floor space, high ceilings and hundreds of pallets to store on a tight budget, the choice is simple. Instead of creating a maze of rows and aisles, as you would with standard selective pallet racking, you create one large grid with access on a single side to drive in.
Keep in mind that the space savings are not the only benefit you will realize, although an estimated 80-85% space utilization can be achieved. Another factor in calculating your return on investment (ROI) is the potential savings in labor, equipment, product damage and operating costs.
Even so, gaining 50% more capacity to store your loads in an existing space can be very attractive when you consider the cost of additional warehouse space. Instead of figuring out which direction you are going to grow and how big an addition you will need for your building, you will instead think of the things that you can do with the space left over after consolidating.
Advantages of a Clean Floor
After doing away with selective pallet racking and consolidating into one easy to access area, you will soon realize the rest. You will instantly notice that you are no longer driving down aisles to find product, turning corners and dodging the pallets that have been left on the floor, obstructing your path. Another noticeable difference is that there are fewer upright frames that can be damaged. Once you turn into the drive-in system past the front uprights, your forklift is between a set of drive-in rails on which the pallets rest (except the bottom one). The product is further protected if the system is designed to allow only pallet loads that are confined to the size of the pallet. Systems designed for product overhang are still able to provide a certain level of protection.
Usually, the forklift that operated within the structure will be the same unit that loads and unloads freight from a truck. The distance traveled by the forklift decreases per pallet retrieved or stored, reducing wear and tear on the unit. The ability to access the pallets faster and safer means that you can also increase your rate of picking per man hour, again increasing your ROI.
Another way to save your company money by using drive-in racking is to double-stack your pallet loads on the bottom level. This will increase the maneuverability of the forklifts and will systematically reduce loading and retrieval time by carrying two pallets at once. This can only be done where identical SKU’s are stored and cubed loads of the same items are forecasted for shipment. Pallet loads must be stable and free standing while you double-stack them, without causing damage to the product. The total combined weight of the double stack must not be more than what the forklift is able to handle.
These are just a few of the things you can think about before calling your sales representative. Other issues will come up before you make your purchasing decision, but a little planning can save a lot of time.

The original “window treatments” were purely functional. They acted as a barrier to the cold in the winter and the heat in the summer. The functionality of window treatments has diminished some what as homes have improved but they still remain popular as a decorative enhancement. Window treatments bring together the thematic elements of colors and designs in a living space.
Croscill Bedding was the first company to offer decorative window treatments that matched their bedding sets. The first matching patterns that Croscill offered were known as “Arsenic and Old lace”, coined from a popular Cary Grant movie. Historically these first breakthrough ideas from Croscill have made them one of the most popular names in bedroom themes. Today you can get and entire decorative motif from Croscill that spans from bedroom to bathroom. Croscill is also known for bringing decorating to the household, allowing the average person to elegantly decorate their living area without laying out huge expenditures on a professional decorator. Other companies soon followed suit, and today you can find window treatments for every room and any style imaginable. Many companies now offer patterns in similar color schemes which can be mixed and matched to suit a variety of tastes.
Most bedding retailers offer coordinating window treatments and bedding ensembles, making it easy to find the perfect theme to fit your imagination. Thomasville offers several sizes and styles of draperies with a variety of matching valances to compete in the window treatments industry. Croscill also continues to deliver matching draperies and valances.
For people who like coordinating window treatments but don’t want too much of the same pattern, a company called RLF Home specializes in unique window treatments. RLF is known for their luxurious fabrics, fashionable designs, and creative embellishments. RLF’s Home Line offers 25 valance styles available in over 500 fabrics. Their wide variety of window treatments can be coordinated with their matching pillows, shower curtains or other bedroom accessories they offer.
For the smaller budget, a company called Victorian Heart offers affordable and stylish straight valances. Victorian Heart specializes in quilts, but their window treatments have proved to be a great success for the smaller budgeted decorating themes.
Another popular window treatment design is lace. Lace is a classic and ever popular choice for windows. Lace panels are always in style and are a great way to get a moderate amount of window coverage without blocking out all of the light. The most popular company for fine lace treatments is Heritage Lace. Heritage caters to all tastes, offering styles from very traditional to chic and modern. Mixing sheer Heritage Lace curtains with RLF Home valances creates a great looking mix of modern and classic styles.
Decorating your windows should be a fun experience. With so many offerings on the board you can easily pick out and affordable and beautiful mix that will fit your existing plan. In addition many quality e-commerce retailers, such as aj MOSS, offer all of these manufacturers at one location, allowing the customer to deal straight with one retailer to decorate their living space.

Making better cookies is a lot easier if you understand the difference
between the average commercial bakery and the home kitchen. These tips
should allow you to make better cookies at home whether it be for a special party or your annual Christmas cookie baking session.
There are 4 major things that are done commercially that are overlooked by
the average home baker.
Number 1 is that the average home baker does not have a stone oven. Most commercial bakeries have stone shelves and that disperses the heat to the pan in a much more even manner. Obviously, buying a commercial oven for this alone is not feasible for most of us. (I have considered putting a commercial pizza oven in my laundry room but my better half vetoed that idea :-(. Thus I settled for going out and buying an oven stone for our regular electric oven. This serves the same purpose with no loss of space in our laundry room and at a huge savings versus the price of a commercial pizza oven (even the used one I wanted).
The second thing is the thickness and quality of the cookie sheet. The average commercial facility uses a sheet pan or half sheet pan which is probably 2 to 3 times as heavy as the ones used by the average home baker. This like the oven stone disperses the heat much better and makes it much easier for the cookies to bake evenly. I definitely recommend checking out your local restaurant supply house to get some half sheet pans which will definitely be
better than the cookie sheet available at your local supermarket or Walmart.
The third item I use when baking cookies is parchment paper. It is much easier to remove the cookies from the paper, your tray doesn’t get all cruddy and need to be cleaned between batches and you will have much less burning on the edges.
The fourth thing the average home baker misses is portion control. I
have a variety of ice cream type scoops that I use for portion control. This allows each cookie to be the same size and allows them to all bake consistently. When I used a spoon I always ended up with a variety of sizes no matter how careful I was and the cooking was never quite even.
Hope these tips allow you to make better cookies in your house. I know
using these tips has improved mine.

“Organize to Simplify” Monthly Financial Checklist By Susan W.
Miller
1. Select a monthly or twice-monthly date for handling all
paperwork, and to meet your financial obligations. You may find
this works better if you select one day a week and stay on top
of things that much better.
2 Gather all supplies and equipment before you sit down to deal
with the paperwork. Typical things include pens, file folders,
checkbooks, stamps, labels, and calculator.
3. Sort all papers into five piles. These will eventually go
into five financial folders: a. Banking b. Bills to pay c.
Payment booklets for fixed obligations d. Sales slips and cash
register slips e. All other statements, such as insurance and
investment notices
4. Balance your bank statements with your checkbooks. Follow the
directions on the back of the statement if you are not sure how
to balance the account. Put the reconciled statements in a file
folder or binder labeled by name of the account.
5. Write checks for the bills and update your expense projection
on expenses that vary from month to month. Keeping this
information current allows you to have a better idea of what to
expect.
6. Create a file folder for each month of the year. Be sure to
label each folder with the month and the year, or by name of the
particular account. Collect the bill stubs and sales slips and
put in appropriate folder. File in the same drawer as the bank
statements.
7. Review insurance and investment notices, noting any changes
or transactions. Premiums have a way of increasing over time.
8. Create a separate file folder for the bill stubs, canceled
checks and any other documentation needed to support your tax
return if you itemize your tax returns. File it anyway if you
are not sure. You will gain confidence and knowledge in what to
keep and what to throw away. Remember, organization is being
able to find what you want when you want it, get things done,
and be in control of your life. If you are going to keep
something, give it a home, label it with a common sense heading,
and keep all records/folders in one location. Otherwise, feed
your trash can.

When you’re studying to pass the BSCI exam and earn your CCNP certification, you’re going to be introduced to ISIS. ISIS and OSPF are both link-state protocols, but ISIS works quite differently from OSPF. You must master these details in order to earn your CCNP.
One of the major differences between OSPF and ISIS will be evident to you when you first begin your BSCI exam studies, and that is the terminology. ISIS uses terms that no other protocol you’ve studied to date uses, and learning these new terms is the first step to BSCI and CCNP exam success.
First off, what does “IS” stand for in “ISIS”? It stands for “Intermediate System”, which sounds like a group of routers. As opposed to Autonomous Systems, which are logical groups of routers, an Intermediate System is simply a single router. That’s it.
You’ll also become familiar with End Systems, referred to in ISIS as an “ES”. The End System is simply an end host.
ISIS and OSPF both use the concept of areas, but ISIS takes a different approach to this concept. ISIS routers use three different types of routing levels, according to the area a router has been placed in. Level 2 routers are connected only to the backbone and serve as a transit device between non-backbone areas. Level 1 routers are totally internal to a non-backbone area.
ISIS uses both Level-1 and Level-2 Hellos, meaning that the two types of routers just mentioned cannot form an adjacency. Luckily for us, there is a middle ground, and that is the Level 1-2 router. These routers connect non-backbone areas to backbone areas. L1-L2 routers keep two separate routing tables, one for L1 routing and another for L2 routing. This is the default setting for a Cisco router, and L1-L2 routers can form adjacencies with both L1 and L2 routers.
Part of the challenge of learning ISIS is getting used to the differences between ISIS and OSPF. Keep studying the terminology, master one concept at a time, and soon you’ll be a master of ISIS and a CCNP to boot!

When I was about 6 years old my family lived in a little African country that was way down on the pointy end of the continent. It has not existed for about 10 years but that’s a different story altogether, but I remember that one fine day my dad came home from a business trip in East London, which is still conveniently located in nearby South Africa. I remember his return because it marked the moment in my life that I became aware of the NFL, specifically I became aware of the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins.
My dad came home with gifts for my brother and I in the form of a baseball cap each. Mine was dark blue with white writing on the front that read Dallas Cowboys and my brothers was a deep red with Washington Redskins printed on the front. We had absolutely no idea who the Dallas Cowboys or Washington Redskins were or what it was they actually did but the hats said Cowboys and Indians on them so we were more then happy to wear them. As time wore on I learnt a bit more about the NFL, mainly that it was slightly similar to rugby but was played by big guys who did not appear to enjoy getting hurt. To avoid this inconvenience the teams made sure that the players wore enough padding to absorb the impact equal to that which you would experience if you were hit by a small car going 30 miles an hour. The result is big men wearing lots of foam and a game that stops every few minutes so the TV stations can show another advert (talk about another story opportunity…)
At the end of the year 2000 my wife and I decided to emigrate from Johannesburg in South Africa to Dallas Texas in the hope of having a better life and more work opportunities for us both. The job market in Dallas appeared to be robust and growing and the weather is quite enjoyable. No though was given to any other part of life in Big D, no thoughts of Dealey Plaza, the President, the TV show, the Cowboys or Cowtown USA. Work was the only motivational factor in the selection of what has become our home city.
A few weeks after our lonely arrival in Dallas we bought a slightly used Ford truck to start exploring our new universe and low and behold we found Texas Stadium, Home of the Dallas Cowboys. I was a bit surprised and found myself remembering that beat up old hat from my childhood. About a year later I was given 5 tickets to a game and while we sat in the stadium I had the strange sensation of having gone full circle, as a childhood image was being played out in front of me. I now knew who the Cowboys are. A nice person sitting near me even took the time to inform me of some of the teams illustrious history and that they were the WORLD CHAMPIONS!
World?
I have supported Manchester United Football Club since about 1990. They are certainly English Champions and even European Champions twice, but ultimately the club has failed to reach the heights that other iconic soccer teams like Liverpool or Real Madrid have. The club rarely succeeds in the international competitions they play in, but they definitely give their competitors a run for their money. Man U has held more then 50 Champions trophies in different competitions high above their heads, in some competitions many more then any other team ever has, and as a result their trophy room at Old Trafford is considered by some to be second to none. The team has dominated the English game for most of the last 15 years and is hated because of it. Unfortunately they have stumbled a bit over the last 3 years but what team doesn’t.
Here is the most fascinating part in all this for me: Manchester United competes against some of the greatest clubs worldwide. Sometimes they win and oftentimes they don’t, but they have NEVER claimed themselves to be world champions in their 103-year history. They have certainly achieved more then the Cowboys ever have, so how can the Cowboys call themselves world champions? Clearly the FIFA and their Soccer World Cup determines what country is the World Champion and there are several international club cups that attempt to crown a Club World Champion, but some might argue that none of these competitions really represent all the clubs on the whole planet.
So lets go back to the NFL and America’s Team, the Cowboys. How does an organization that consists of teams exclusively from American cities and cleverly named the National Football League end up with World Champion teams?
If no other country is competing in the NFL what makes them think that they have the right to hang the title of World Champions over their door? Heck, Canada doesn’t even play!
Consider the NFL trophy itself: It is handcrafted out of solid silver and stands a mere 22 inches high. It was first presented at the AFL-NFL World Championship Game (now called the Super Bowl, which by the way is remarkably good when enjoyed with beer and chips) on January the 15th 1967. It was originally called the World Championship Game Trophy, but in 1971 the name was changed to the Lombardi Trophy. Good move.
Can you call yourself World Champions if you are the only one playing? If you are the only one playing and you win why not call yourself Champions of the Universe?
